    Stressed???
So I moved my bp (approx a year old) into a new setup..48x18x24... about a month and half ago..he didn't eat for 3 weeks then he shed and ate once (immediately after) and now hasn't eaten for another 3 weeks. I have also noticed a change in his behaviour..for about a week and a half he's been extremely active at night and fairly active during the day which. He managed to briefly escape his enclosure and since then he has been constantly trying to get out..and everytime I open the front doors he tries to dart out...but he's NOT aggressive at all and has never even threatened to strike at me.

I'm not sure if he's still just getting used to everything. (I just finished school so there's abit more activity in the room now that I'm home constantly)
I`m contemplating taking him to the vet but wouldn`t mind some opinions first. Thanks

That's a huge enclosure for a year old....

...My year olds are in 32qt tubs. Try moving him to something smaller. Offer hides and let him acclimate to his new enclosure.

I think you are being extra sweet to your ball. :) What was he previously housed in?

Anything bigger than a 20g is too big for ADULT ball pythons.
I recommend a year old bp in a 16q tub or a 10g tank. He sounds like he is extremely stressed from the amount of large space in his tank, which is why he's roaming constantly.

I dont have a rack system and im not planning on building one for awhile... he was in a 24x12x16 and had no room to move or anything.
He`s already about 39inches in length and has always been an active snake...that`s why I spoiled him with that much of a larger cage..he has 3 hides...1 warm 1 cool and a humid hide..plus a tong of foilage to hide under

He would not fit in a 10gallon tank thats for sure damn sure....and actually the shed that he did once I moved him into this new cage was his first complete shed with nothing retained that`s why I`m not sure if he`s too stressed about the cage..I think it has more to do with all the noises in the room ( it used to be quiet and now I have my T.v. and my computer setup in the same room)

You don't need a rack system to put him in a smaller enclosure. Could you take a picture of him in the enclosure?

The point is, ball pythons don't WANT to have enough space to move and roam around. If theres enough space for that, oftentimes they will be stressed.

Well he was all over that cage aswell...What he was in was 2 small to feed him in..and he didn`t shed properly...his first complete shed was in his new enclosure where I had the space to place a humid hide...I have pictures but I can`t figure out how to scale them down..the site won`t let me post them
