Woma vs Spider
So basically I have the opportunity to get a great deal on either of these snakes. I like spiders more, but womas are beautiful too. I was wondering how explored womas are, in terms of genetics and morphs? I don't see many morphs with them even though they are codom. I know that they have chances to throw some amazing morphs out, but the odds aren't in my favor, I'm sure. The spider isn't going to cost me much more, and the promise of bees down the road is an exiting prospect! What would you guys do?

Re: Woma vs Spider
I could be mistaken because it isn't a morph I've been interested in getting soon, so I haven't paid really close attention to the prices, but I thought womas usually cost more than spiders.

Re: Woma vs Spider
They are fairly close to each other from what I've seen. Womas sit around 400, while Spiders are 350-450. I don't see many womas around at all.

Re: Woma vs Spider
I'd go with womas, they're really pretty even though they're not as obvious but the combos are really cool looking and there's less of them around

Re: Woma vs Spider
I'd pick the woma but first look at both animals and pick the cleanest one without any spots.

Re: Woma vs Spider
Womas are great because the carry the hidden gene that is great in combos. However not all womas carry the hidden gene and essentially produce reduced pattern combos that don't have much wow factor IMO.
If you were going to buy a woma I would get one from directly from NERD with the hidden gene. Then again you won't be paying 400 for it...

Re: Woma vs Spider
Womas that do NOT have the hidden gene are less than spiders. Womas that DO have the hidden gene, will cost considerably more than spiders. I'm holding out for a hidden gene woma.

Re: Woma vs Spider
My hopes that it would be a hidden gene woma, but in all likelyhood its not, being that its not a NERD line woma, as far as I know.

I guess I am all by myself on this one but I say get a spider :gj:

Re: Woma vs Spider
Question: If the hidden gene is hidden.... how do you know if any particular snake carries it?
I would think a Woma produced from a line that carries the gene would only have a chance at carrying it, not a guarantee?
Can someone explain this?
