Setup Help!!!!
ok I have a wooden setup and am using sterilite tubs, heat pads and repta bark for the bedding. I put holes in the sides of the tubs and the lid but when I put the lid on the humidity goes to 99%! Can anyone help?? But it is perfect without the lids the humidity is then between 40-70%. What am i doing wrong?? Can anyone give me some guidance or a trick?? I am thinking about cutting a slot out of the lids and replacing with screen. Will this work?? HELP!

Re: Setup Help!!!!
I'm not sure what the set up you have is. If the humidity in the tubs is too high, then drill more small holes in the sides.
You could also use newspaper or aspen instead of repta bark(I think it holds moisture better?)
I would not put screen in, as your snakes might rub their faces against it and rub wounds onto themselves.

Ok so i am trying to get rid of the glass tanks (on top of rack and on stand to the right) and go to all tubs as I have 4 snakes currently and 2 more coming soon. It is just a basic stand to hold the bins. Does this help at all??

Re: Setup Help!!!!
get rid of the reptibark and use paper towels.
i had the same problem with aspen grass but now my humidity is perfect.

Re: Setup Help!!!!
So would I still have to drill more holes then or not? I guess it would depend on the humidity levels after switching huh?

Re: Setup Help!!!!
Make sure to use a digital hygrometer, alot more accurate than an analog, place it on the opposite side of the tub from the water dish. Remove the bark and use newspaper or aspen.
Check your humidity level for a few days, if its still too high, then drill a few more small holes... You can always drill a few more, so dont get carried away.
NOTE... make sure your water dish is not too close to your heat source.
