    A couple of dinkers....
Here are two girls i've been holding onto. I had to get them out this evening, thought you guys might enjoy some pictures. They are normals, nothing fantastically super, but they are pretty girls.

and finally, comparing to the possible pastel with belly burns that make it impossible to tell from a belly shot....

yellow belly pix in a day or two, while i was feeding some others, he came out with an extreme "where's mine!?!?" expression. he downed a small adult mouse :), so pix after he's had a couple of days to digest.

oh, and just to note the "pastel" was a rescue, i got her from a guy who had been using a heat rock for a year, and she'd not eaten for 5 months (was very small for her age too). she's now eating 2-3 mice a week, total pig! the scars are going to be there for a loooong time though :(.

That last one is definitely interesting. Is it a paradox, or are those black areas due to the burn?

It doesn't really look pastel to me, but definitely a very pretty snake.

With as much trauma as she has endured, I think she is going to look quite a bit different, but she does not look like a pastel, and I don't see that getting proven out any time with as much as she's had to go through. :/

Do you have a belly pic? Any markings along the ventral scales rule out pastel.

    Nice dinkers BTW!

the black lines are burns :(. all the burns are healed, but are some very nasty scars. i can't imagine this girl going through that for a year....

it doesn't look like a normal pastel to me either, more like a super with jungle pattern. there's blushing on her sides, but not the top area (except for one spot), and i can't really tell from the belly, as the black scars run across; i can't tell if some of the black is genetic color or scar tissue (probably the latter).

we will be breeding her to see what happens :).

That last one is a beauty. I'm glad she's in good hands now. I like the one above her too. She has a nice light color to her. Great pics!!

no, no belly shot; she's digesting too, and i'm not wanting to disturb her too much (she's doing really well, gaining weight, i don't want to mess that up by handling her too much...). however, there ARE marks along the belly, but i can't tell if it's normal coloration or scars (she's got SOOOO much scarring it's hard to see where the pattern starts and stops.

i don't really see what you mean as far as proving it out.... she'll be around for a long time, and will probably breed next year.

and i agree, she does not look like a normal pastel. more like a super with jungle pattern, as seen in NERD's gallery.

whether she is or is not, she's got an awesome color/pattern, and i'm interested to see what she produces :).

I'm saying, I personally would have concerns about breeding a girl with so much scar tissue.

thank you! i like the light colored one too, kinda platinumish (color, not morph).

she was a lot lighter than her siblings, i can't wait to see her all grown up :).

i'm not. she's healed well, the scarring isn't tough and rigid, and she is growing (sorry for lack of size comparison shot). it'll be a year and a half before she breed. just like any kids, scars won't keep them from growing :p.

now, if she'd shown any signs of internal damage (which would have probably resulted in death long before i got to her), it'd be a different story. as the burns are superficial, i highly doubt it will present a problem for future breeding.
