Feeding issue-complicated

Ok, So I have had one ball since August and I have had no issues with feeding her. Well about 2 1/2 weeks ago my roommate went in to his closet and found another ball python laying in some clothes. Being that it's cold outside, we have neighbors, and they aren't found in the wild here in Georgia. I just figured that either one she got loose or two the owner didn't want her and let her go. Anyways, I put them both in the cage together and they had no problems. Gave the new snake about two weeks to chill. Then about three days ago I tried to feed it a hopper mice...nothing. So, i exposed the brain matter of the mouse to try and entice the ball...still nothing...gave it 3 days and tried again...I just can't seem to get her to eat...any ideas? Maybe I should separate them and try again?

You should definitely separate them. The stress of another cage member is probably what's causing your snake to not eat. Also, It wasn't a good idea to throw some random snake into your snakes enclosure when you don't know where it came from.

I'm not sure if you meant you have neighbors, or don't have neighbors, but you might want to place some Found posters around (if you haven't already done so). It may have escaped & the owner might be looking for it.

You need to quarantine them!!!! I too would put up a found poster.

The posters are up in front of the neighborhood...I've had to put them up three times.Some one keeps taking them down...I have separated them and how long should I give the new snake to get accustomed to the new cage before trying to feed again? Note: I did take the new BP to the vet and had the vet look her over. He to believes that the BP was a pet and hadn't been out of it's cage long... She is very docile and hasn't hissed or tried to bite once.

Also, I have never had two snakes before. What kinds of things do I need to pay attention to and should I keep them separated or can I eventually put them together? Any advise would be much appreciated.

it is best for the health of the snake if you keep them apart unless breeding. a cage mate may add unnecessary stress at the minimum or a worse case would be one eats the other (very rare but possible).

I would take the one you found to a vet. They can do samples and make sure there is no problems and check for things like worms. They can also probe (if they are experenced) and tell you if it is a girl or boy. I would go to the local pet shops and ask them if anyone reported a lost snake (I wouldnt say what type it is). Good luck and I am glad you seperated them. Watch both snakes well as yours might of picked up something from the other one.
