My good friend Jamie Glass

Earlier today I read a thread where my good friend Jamie was taunted.

I did not start ths thread to discuss that ..but to comment on something that was said and I didn't get the chance to reply before the thread was locked.

It was said that Jamie is not an asset to this community.

but I have to disagree.

When I first started posting on bpnet I was actually offended by Jamie...on more than one occassion. :rolleyes: But the more I read of his posts the more I saw me..in him. It wasn't what he said yet how he said it. Jamie doesn't beat around the bush and play games. He is very direct. He tells it like it is and if it isn't all sunshine and butterflies...well then people don't want to hear it. I like that in a person. :gj:

also...Jamie has made many valuable post to help other members of this community ranging from basic husbandry to genetics and even has had at least 2 of his threads stickied. He has been a strong posting member of this community since 8/04.

Jamie is not just another member on this site to me . He is a real friend to me and I for one think he is a HUGE asset to this community. :D

Jamie has taken many phone calls from me at ALL hours of the day and night to help me with my snakes...and even somtimes with my life. :oops:

I wish there were more people out there like him.

Very well stated MeME. I am new to the reptile world but have already saw way too much jealousy and bitterness. Life is short and everyone needs to make it a point to get along with others and help others when needed. I think people are willing to help until they see you catching up with them. I may never be an impact in this business but I will ALWAYS be willing to help anyone that needs it and will never downgrade anyone in this industry, no matter how I really feel about them.

I've noticed that a lot of people have pretty thin skin, so to speak. Even if someone were to attack somebody here, after he had put aside his own ego and accepted the good advice given on here, which seems hard for a lot of these people who complain about things like this to do, grow up. It's the internet. But like you said, Meme, Jamie isn't someone who does this. He lays it out, without any sugar coating. Some people like Wes and Jasballs take this a half step further, but it doesn't make the advice they give wrong, or make them bullies. I had an issue with John giving me crap for things I said, in a true Jasballs fashion, but instead of getting mad and whining about it I gave it right back to him and we laughed about it. No big deal. Some people just need to relax their egos and get some thicker skin.

Memes... It is so hilarious you say that. I felt the same way initially as well... Like man.. Why is he being an ass. And then I was like LOL, he's so honest, he just isn't sugar-coatin it. And then I was like HOT! GMAIL ME! Thanks Meme. Sweet. <3
