i always skip'em if they're in shed ...... just something i like to do! i would think shedding is enough pain in the rear, so i just leave'em be! once they shed they get a nice meal!

Mine shows interest when i pre-scent the room. a terrible shed last week & didnt even phase her.

I was just keeping my side of the bargain to "offer" plus i could tell she was really hungry. She hunted that one down quickly.

Other then that i have waited until shed cycle has ceased.

I have tried both. I have figured out that a few will eat and a few of them wont. In most cases they shy away from it when they are in shed so I just wait till the next week to feed them.

I have certain snakes that I know will eat, even when in shed. My spider won't even think about touching a feeder if he is in shed. My female pastel, however, immediately goes into feeding mode when I open the tub. I drop in a mouse and bam! She strikes just fine.

I don't think its bad to feed while they are in shed. Some snakes will eat, some won't. Its all a matter of personal preference and personal preference of the snake.

My BP Stan still eats when he is in shed.

Someone made a comment though that they don't feed when their snake is in shed because they think that there is already enough stress on them / enough energy being used without adding feeding to that... made me think about it.

I already had the mouse thawed for my BP when I realized he was in blue. As he was swallowing the prey he started the shed. I guess stretching his body started it and off came a perfect shed. He usually eats in shed since them. (OT, since it is difficult to tell when my boas are ready to shed they get fed regularly and have never refused.)
