People are getting desperate...

So... I had to go rescue my SO from the Barnes and Noble Parking Lot because he was stranded.

Not because his truck was stolen, mind you...

But because someone stole his catalytic converter. :mad:


Now, I had no idea what the heck that was until I looked underneath the truck and saw a graping hole of nothing, and two pipes with nothing between them...

So yeah..

Be careful out there guys. People are getting desperate and will steal and try anything.

That sucsk for you guys. I saw on FOX News that that is about the only real use for a recipricating saw. Like a lot of other easy and illegal things, they pretty much walked you through how to steal an expensive catalytic in under a minute. What scumbags.

Great now Fox News is helping the scumbags be more efficent! Geeze!

I saw this title and said to myself............"Just great..., lets see who's cutting prices now before Daytona and is selling something like a spider for $100"

but I was relieved that it was just the catalytic converter and not another price slashing story. Sorry though Heather, that sucks......people will do just about anything these days.

Catalytic converters have a good value as scrap. The ones from older vehicles contain platinum and bring a pretty penny at the scrap yard. Sorry to hear that he was victimized at a bookstore of all places.

I used to have a Yukon and when it was brand new I went to a Dodger game to come out and find someone stole my spare tire!
Not close to as bad as you, I was still driving.


People are interesting creatures to say the least.

I heard about that! That some of them have precious metals in them and are easy to steal so now they are big on the black market.

CATs have small traces of platinum in it. Thats why they are stolen. Used to be really popular back in the day.

wow. hows is someone gonna steal a catalytic converter... thats just wrong.
