How Many should we keep?

My daughter & I started to breed our own mice for our King & baby Ball.
We don't mind the breeding of mice.
But, we do have an abundance & found that there are not many petshops here that sell feeders.
If I were to go on Craigslist & sell mice. How many should we keep
to keep up our supplies? We are also willing to sell some as pets too as we have many types of what are called fancies here.
Also? How old is too old for a male to keep for breeding?
We've got a beautiful Blond/red male who is really just stunning with his colors.

Sorry, I also forgot to ask?
What would be a fair selling price for Mice?

Keep enough to substain your current snakes, it all depends on how many you feed them a week.

Id sell them at around $1, many places sell them for $2 but I think thats too much for one tiny mouse...

Males will keep breeding untill they die, but id keep back some of his sons once he gets older.

Thanx for the reply. I had figured $1.00 per mouse would be ideal.
I feed about 4 aweek. 2 per snake.
As for the orangy male? We just had a litter by him a few days ago & more are coming. I have about 3 tanks going right now & would like to keep it to that. :)

We have about 50 + right now.

The mice can be used as feeders or pets.
Most are fancies.
$1.00 for feeder and $1.50 for pets
Just make sure you let me know how many are needed.
You need to supply a box or carrier for transport.
One email I got was just to say that I was very cruel to sell feeders. :O

Those people clearly don't know what they are talking about. Ohh would I love to reply to them.
Sounds like a good idea though I don't know if people will lie and say that they want feeders when they really want pets. ;]

You should make it like: 5 or more is 1.00 and individually they are 1.50 which discourages people who want pets to be unable to buy more than 5 mice.

thats what i would do just like they said 5 or more 1 dollar and 1.50 for less than 5 that keeps them from taking advantage of you. and i have people complain all the time when i feed mine live mice or rats and i just explain that its just a life cycle. we take awesome care of our mice and rats but they are here for one reason and one reason only. they are food. good luck with your sales. :gj:

Thats why all my mice are named SF (snake food). Help me remember their purpose in life at my house.
