I picked up an interesting BP today
This is a cool little male I brought home today. Eats like a horse. Anyway, he has a cool "star" pattern on the head, some interesting belly markings, flames, and a bunch of white on the back, which I initially though was just a "rub". Upon closer inspection, the white isn't "scale damage", but looks to be coloration. Still, I'll reserve judgement until after a few sheds.

Anyway, I would LOVE to hear what you guys think of this little guy. Any thoughts about genetics on it, or if you think it's just a cool "normal", etc....

    Thanks :)

That white, at least in your pictures, doesn't appear to be natural white but some sort of healing injury. Any chance of clearer pictures of that area?

Doesn't appear to be. If you look closely, the white follows exactly along the pattern. It looks like "scale coloration", but seems too white...as mentioned though, I should know further after a few sheds. I looked with a magnifying glass and was unable to see any scale damage. However, I'm still not convinced one way of the other.

My camera won't get good close ups. I'll try to take more, but its a $100 Kodak... :(

Still, I agree... That was my initial thought, but doesnt appear to be "damaged". It really didnt "figure in" to me buying this snake...I just dug the head pattern and some of the markings on the body.

Cool star pattern on the head, but it does look like "tub rub" to me. I have some that rub the lip of their tub in the 41 quart sterilites, and the scales appear white with no visible scale damage - just missing the top layer of color.

Its odd because its colored like an injury, is in a location like an injury, but there are no damaged scales...shedding will tell the story.
