    Lightning storm
Just spent 3 hours trying to capture some lightning strikes on camera. Besides taking a crash course through my cameras manual, and fumbling with the controls, I managed to capture a few interesting pics. These were all taken between 10pm and 12 am. :)

And as it goes with putting effort into something, mother nature just now decides to start throwing some frequent and awesome bolts across the sky.... grrrrr.

    Heat lightning

In the fifth picture you can see the return electricity coming off the power structures... reaching from the ground into the sky. That's sweet! You should send that one into weather.com or something....

Cool. I'd like to try to "catch" lightning some time. Did you use a long exposure?

Yea I dont have a remote or anything, so I just threw it in aperture priority and set the exposure for as high as possible. It would stay open for 35 seconds. Any other mode would make it really red and bright. Like I said, I don't really know what I'm doing here, just goofing around!

Hopefully we'll have some better storms in the future. :)
