oil filled vs. ceramic heaters
If i have the option of either an oil filled heater with just a normal knob that says cool, warm, or hot. Or a ceramic heater that has a digital read out of the exact temp. what should i get?
Re: oil filled vs. ceramic heaters
I would go with the ceramic

I may be wrong but it's my understanding that a lot of breeders use oil filled heaters in conjunction with a reliable thermostat since the built in thermostats are usually not very accurate.

I would agree. Don't rely on any thermostat that is part of the heater to accurately control the temperature in the room. With that said, I would go with the oil filled heater and a Ranco or similar on/off thermostat.

This is what I use http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=7768653, also to achieve proper temps mine is plug into a Ranco thermostat.
Oil filled heaters are safe and can run 24/7 with no worry of fire hazard.

it would depend on the wattage output, I doubt it will work, and I would highly recommend you a Ranco or Johnson thermostat.

will do. I just bought the heater, um... where can i order the ranco?
