    A few ?'s

How do you clean your pinky rat tubs? Do you just take them out with the feeders, and where do you put them all?

Great video, this really makes me want to build a rack for my rats and mice.

Great video, this really makes me want to build a rack for my rats and mice.

Typically what I like to do is pull the tub out and set it on a work table that I have set up. I have an extra tub so I always have a clean empty tub ready to go. I take the empty(of rats) clean tub with fresh pine and put it in the slot I just took the other out of. If this is a breeding tub I separate the pregos in to a birthing tub. If the tub has baby's I take all of the moms out first look them over to check an make sure they are healthy and all are nursing. Some times one mom will try to nurse 20+ baby's and this is very taxing on thier body.

Once the moms are out I check the baby's for cuts milk bands ect just to see that all of them are healthy and eating. I then take the babys and just put them in with the moms, dump the old pine scrap the tub if it needs it and move down.

Ones that I am feeding off get put in a little "Critter Carrier" and set aside for later.

Kiln dried pine is fine for them I change it every week so they get fresh dry pine every 7 days. But I use pine because its cheap and when its clean It smells great. Pine is harmful for your snakes but if kept clean its fine for rats

Thanks I wish it was cleaner than that. I had wanted to do that on a day that males were paired up so you could see a couple of my males breeding away but alas I did not have the cam then.

That room makes my life so much easier to control heat and humidity it is great.. Thanks for looking everyone

I love your setup. Good idea with the water bottle so you don't have to worry about floods. :gj:

I would have never thought about those kind of tubs. Thank you for sharing!

    Awesome video, rats, and ideas.
