Re: Uromastyx pics
Have you had this guy for a while? If I remember digging through OLD posts, I could've sworn you posted pictures of a uro before.
Anyways, he's lookin good!:gj:

Yeah man...I have had him since 2004 sometime. He hasn't grown anywhere near the size of a "normal" Mali. He was in a 20 long for a while but last year I got him an AP enclosure that is 4 X 2 X 2. He has a lot of room to run and he has grown a little but not much. He eats like crazy every day.

They are very easy. They don't require any standing water to drink. They get all their water needs from daily fresh greens. They eat most dark leafy greans (no lettuces or spinach), carrots, squash and some fruits (if they will eat them). No citrus. They can also have small amounts of live insects. Ronin gets crickets or worms every couple months but once or twice a week is fine. He loves to chase crickets! They are from a dry, arid region so you want a hot, dry environment. The hot spot should be 120-130 with temps in the 80s on the cooler end. At night their temps can drop into the low 70s. I also keep belly heat on 24/7 since he is in a room that gets cold at night. I use bird seed as a substrate. It's safe if ingested and easily changed.
