    Pied Markers
I've seen many threads like "OMG look at that belly and those markers", but no one ever explains what these "markers" are. I know markers are not 100% correct so stay away from that argument.

I would just like to know what these markers are even if pictures are available it would help.

    Thank you.

Awesome great link. This is overall what I was looking for.

"The "marker traits" are a clean belly with a thick, dark border on both sides."

Knowing that and what they look like I believe less in these markers. Thanks Ed.

Looking at my normal, he has markings too. I'll never try to prove him out though.

I am kind of in line with what Adam was saying, that the markings are more of just random patterning.

some people are hard core believers but the fact that proven non hets have the markers tells you its unreliable

I wouldn't live or die by the markers but if I was looking at possible het pieds I would prefer to pick one with the marker. But like many have said they don't all have markers and some do that aren't het pied.

Interestingly. Last year I bred my Het Pied male (which does NOT have the markers) to a normal female (which also did NOT have the markers) And I ended up with 50% possible het babies where some of them DID have the markers. So, it's kind of odd the way it works, its not a sure fire thing, but it can't be completely dismissed either.

I have Het Pieds that have the markers, and some that don't.

It's kinda luck of the draw?
