I think shes scared for life
I little girl Kaa wont eat rats anymore. For a while she was on live mice and she would knock them out no problem so i moved her up to small rats. the first one she had she took no problem but the second one is where the prblem arouse. I didnt realize the rat i got was vicious and she BIT Kaa. She didnt get hurt but im sure it shook her up. Now she wont eat rats anymore and mice are getting too small. I dont wanna have to feed her two mice at a time. Is she scarred for life?

I would just feed her two mice a feeding then.. My female didnt get bit- she just decided that she wasnt hungry, then it seemed like she got afraid- now she trys to hide or get away from the rats and ignores the mice... And I'm getting scared- its been going
on for while now...
So if shes eating mice- then be happy!! Just feed her more, if need be.

i just wasnt sure if it was healthy for her to eat more than one per feeding.

There isn't anything wrong with feeding several mice in one setting. There are a few members that I know of that have pretty good sized BPs that will only eat mice. Just give her one, wait until she swallows it and starts looking around again, then give her the next one. ^_^

I had the same experience with my BP. She had a bad feeding with a small rat. Then I had to feed her 4 mice per week. I just now got her to take a small rat two weeks in a row. it only took her a year to decide to take the rats again. Oh, I did start stunning them now and scenting the rat with litter from the mice's cage at the pet store.

you could try feeding her a weanling rat after an adult mouse. The prey instinct could persuade her to forget her fear and see if it helps her regain her confidence.

i had a ball get a cut in his jaw from a rat. i must have happened while he had it wraped beacuse he nailed it right away. I didn't feed him for a couple of weeks becuse I was afraid that the cut would re-open. after that he wouldn't take rats anymore either. it took almost a year to get him back on rats.

On another note-
You could try feeding her frozen/thawed. I do that to mine and it works very well.
Or, at least as I've read (unless those books were wrong) You could try feeding her a hamster, or gerbil, one of those (if I remember correctly, it's the hamster) is a BP's Natural prey anyhow. Though, if it is a hamster, it can get pretty expensive, at 10 bucks a pop, maybe 20 depending on the size and type.

I think you're talking about the african soft furred rat. I've actually heard that hamsters aren't a good food source for BPs as they are more furry and more aggressive.
On a side note, what pet store do you go to that charges $20 for a hamster? Lol. They are like $6-8 around here.
