    Need some reassurance
I would just feel better if I got some feedback from all of you. Tonight I fed Nagini, and it went well as always (she's such a good eater). The thing is, they had no med-lrg adult mice tonight...only jumbos. So, I searched through their stock and picked out the smallest jumbo there. Turned out the mouse was the exact same width as Nagini at her widest point: 1". She nabbed it just as fast as she has smaller mice, and swallowed it with no apparent problem.

The thing I need reassurance on is this: was it OK feeding her that big a mouse?? Call me paranoid, but I just don't want her getting overstuffed and regurging it. Whatcha think?

sounds like it shouldn't be too big of a deal, and there's no point in worrying over it. if she regurges then you'll know it was too big. just leave the bp undisturbed to digest the meal.

I agree. Should be fine. We usually recommend slightly smaller than the widest part of the snake, but that's as much to prevent someone from stuffing a large rat into a hatchling bp as anything else. OK, so I exaggerated a little...maybe a lot.

Should be fine. IMHO she would have refused it or not managed to get it down if not. If it's in there, then I guess it fits.

Hope that helps. If not, how 'bout a Mike's Lemonade?

Edit: Ooooops. You are underage according to your profile. Forget the Mike's. Um... listen to music?

Thanks, all. Like I said, I guess I'm just paranoid when it comes to my babies. :) But you're right that she probably wouldn't have swallowed it if it had been too big.

MelissaFlipski: Where on earth did you get the idea I was underage?? Don't get me wrong, it's quite flattering to see something like that after all these years...and even tho I am 30, I don't drink. Thanks for the suggestion tho. :D I chose apple cider and a movie.

Uh-oh. Mommy brain math. It was a combination of paranoia (I checked your profile after I posted) and pressure (if I needed to edit, I had to do it w/in 10 minutes) and my quickly fading brain! Anyway, I'm glad you took it well.
