ETS (Empty Tank Syndrome) Cured
Re: ETS (Empty Tank Syndrome) Cured
Hi,
Lovely colours and markings - now help me cure my ignorance and tell me what it actually is.
And how big do they get?

A black throat monitor, close in relation to the Savannah monitor. The babies are brilliantly colored, and fade as they age. They can grow to be 4 to 6 feet and are known for their more docile temperment (in comparison to more aggressive species like the Nile).

They can pass up 6' easily and get well over 50 pounds. Make sure you have lots of room...that tank is not going to last long ;)
There is a good picture of an adult here:

Dear God!!!
Are you telling me that cute little thing will grow into one of these?!?!?!
What are you going to do? Use it as a horse and ride it to work? :O
Actually that could look quite impressive if you could wield a spear at the same time - reminds me of a book jacket I saw once.:P
