If "HE" takes them both down. I'd say its fine. If it where a female, I'd say stick to Rats.

well if he east both...i would pick rats.. cuz if u feed him a rat one time and then a week later a mouse... he will still be hungry and wont be happy. s if you are giving him rats more then mice i would say stay wit rats.
annd also maks them more thick and look better

Just so you know, This is not true. I have three proven breeder females that are mousers. They go back on feed faster after laying. breed before my rat feeders do , And lay perfect early clutches.. I'd say they are pretty happy?

A fat, thicker ball does not necesarily mean a happy, healthy ball. Plummer do you know what powerfeeding is? My female eats mice and she is just as healthy as if she were eating rats.

not doggin ya plummer but if you all refer to his post in giants. he feeds a 5 foot retic 2 to 3 rabbits. i'd say powerfeeding is what he does. not safe in my "opinion" but its your pets. health and safety is my key points

or the other posts were he talks about feeding his 2-3 foot retic 2 large rats a week. Definate power feeding.

Swapping is not a problem at all. I am feeding my hatchlings both mice and rats.. so that their eventual buyers can choose what they want to feed. All 12 babies eat whatever I put in; rat fuzzies or mouse hoppers.
Please disregard the little tiff here. Welcome to the forum!

nice avatar! haha love the stare :P
oh btw sorry never answered ya in last post. i used to feed mice, but i switched to rats. reason is that rats are more nutritional. i also picked rats for convenience. balls are picky eaters, at least mine. you lucked out! any who, i knew that they would have to switch from mice to rats at sometime when they get bigger, so i switched to rats cause of the size. pinkies to jumbos. that way i dont "interupt" the taste of dinner for them through the years. its your personal choice, but if it were me i'd say rats :)
OHH and Welcome! lots of useful information and wonderful people here :)
