    Eyecap
I've got a stuck eyecap and a little shed on medusa's head. I cant get aywhere near her head with anything without her trying to bite me... Blah. I tried soaking, which removed all of the shed except her eyecap and that little "patch" It's been stuck for like 3 days, and it looks like she has a dent in her eye that has the eyecap stuck. The other eye is perfectly normal. Whats the best way to remove it?

I would say rub a little mineral oil on it with a cuetip and hold her head and gently remove it with a tweezers if you feel comfortable doing that with her.

Well, a vet told me a long time ago no my old Ball that had this problem...........

Get a piece of Scotch Tape and wrap it sticky side out around the tip of your finger.

Then you need to hold the snakes head. They will not like it but it will only take a few seconds. They will love you afterwards though.

Gently use your finger and place it on the eye cap and remove. Make sure not to press hard. Just enough to get contact with the cap.

It worked like a charm for me and the snake seemed to like it afterwards. Just for the fact that it was on there so long because I gave it alot of time to come off on it's own but it never did.

I didnt want to cause it stress by holding the head, but I guess I'l have to. I've heard of both methods, but I wasnt sure which one worked best. I'll give it a little more time, and if it hasnt come off by then, I'll try the tape one because I have no mineral oil. :D Thank alot for the help!

Hun, you can also just wait until the next shed. That eyecap won't cause any problems whatsoever and will just come off next time. Eyecaps cause problems when they buildup over time, and no one takes care of it. Bacteria can buildup underneath those layers and cause infection. Just one eyecap won't do a thing.

Waiting would be the safest thing to do. A lukewarm moist washcloth draped over her head for a bit would help too. Just no tweezers and NO tape.

Be extremely careful using tape on your snakes eyes. A stuck eyecap is much better than damaging your snakes eye. Wait until the next shed, if it doesnt come off take the snake to someone with experience like a vet and have them do it. After you see someone with experience do it you will atleast have an idea of what you should be doing. A stuck eyecap is not a huge deal bro.

You risk seriously injuring (or worse) your snake if you use tape or a tweezer.

Oh, wow. Thanks for advise. :D I get all paranoid whenever anything happens to my snakey-poo, but I guess its better than not caring about it.

If you have a stready hand a tweezers will work fine and you should have no trouble getting the eye cap off.
