So i'm considering doing a display tank. Can you all post pictures of yours so i get some ideas for what i should do?

I'm a pretty creative person, but i've never dont this before, so i figured i would ask.

    Thanks all!

You probably mean naturalistic set ups, but here's one of mine anyway! ;)My corn's tank is the fanciest one. I did it Fantasia style since his name is Falkor.

there's a great book I have and recommend

    "The Art of Keeping Snakes"
It is all about building and maintaining naturalistic vivaria for different types of snakes. Some of it is a bit extreme, but you can get some great ideas and pick and choose how far you want to take it.

My goal is to eventually keep all naturalistic setups (except for the quarantine tank)

    good luck!

I have my Iguana in a display-type cage, but it's not awesome or anything. If I were to set one up for one or some of my snakes, I would order a nice black plastic cage to do it in.

Thanks all :). I am going to do a natural set up for one of my BPs, i just have to decide which one i want to put in there. Possibly the pied, she is pretty cool to look at. lol. i'll get something together, and post it, and ask opinions.

Thos of you with natual display set ups, do you use the repti-bark stuff? How does that work for you?

A 55 gallon tank, that is hard to heat regardless, and especially for a baby Ball who you just got, doesn't sound like the best possible situation for her.

Maybe get some Crested Geckos, Tree Frogs, etc. Something that will actually appreciate the space and the time you took to decorate it.

The Ball is just going to be stressed to the max, squished in a hide 24/7.

Totally agree. Frogs, arboreal snakes, iggies look nice in display tanks ... but a BP? It can be totally detrimental to the snake's well being.

You have to ask yourself what are your priorities and wether having an aesthetic setup to show-off to your friends and family is worth the stress caused to the snake. It's your snake after all.
