    recessive x recessive ?
    I have a question....

If you have a homo pied (recessive) mated with a homo albino (recessive)....

Would you produce ... a normal looking snake that is... 100% het pied and 100% het albino?

So then in order to produce an albino pied, you would have to mate this snake up with with another 100% het pied and 100% het albino snake (and get only 12.5% homo because both traits have to be recessive together) or a homo albino/pied that is het for the other trait?

So then...assuming you had a homo pied albino....would a simple mating with a pastel produce lav albino pieds....because pastel is dom?

no wonder these snakes are high in value....:D

    am i on target?
(is there a calculator somewhere to determine complex gentics like this?)

closer to 6.25% with two double hets breeding :(

Visible albino pied x pastel would produce 1/2 pastels and 1/2 normals that are double het for pied and albino. So you would have normal looking snakes and Pastels, but no visible pieds or albinos.

And no, you said lavendar albino pied.. that is wrong, a lavendar albino is like an albino but different, so youd need to start with a alvender albino and a pied, pastel has no say in the creation of a lav albino pied

The chances on how the babies will turn out from the double hets being paired up would be

    25% het pied het albino
    12.5% pied het albino
    12.5% albino het pied
    12.5% het albino
    12.5% het pied
    6.25% albino pied
    6.25% albino
    6.25% pied
    6.25% normal

A lavendar albino is a morph

    A pied is a morph

    An albino is a morph

    It stands alone :)

I am not 100% sure what it takes to produce them. But the Lav Albino Pieds are hot.

You would have to breed a lavender albino x pied to get normal babies that are het for both recessives. Then you would have to breed DH laveder albino/ pied x DH lavender albino/pied. Your clutch breakdown would be the same as posted above, except lavender albino would replace the albino. ;)

I will confess here, i cheated on that percentage break down up there. I used a cornsnake morph calculator, picked two random traits, and just replaced one trait with pied and one with albino when i wrote it down. I could run the square, but why bother with such nice programs just a click away :P
