    Gambit...3 months today!
And what do I do, but take him to the vet. He was not a happy camper about that. He's a sweetheart but, hates to be bugged when he is in his hides. The good news is, that he got the A-O.K. from the vet, so I just need to bring in a fecal sample and be done with it. Also, he weighs 120g. When I got him he was at 104.6g.

I feel bad though because I figured he would be stressed from today (his normal feeding day) and I decided not to feed tonight. Well, when I got home from work, there he is, on top of his hide and just staring at the lid like " I know those rats will be dropping from heaven any time now". Lol.

I would like to keep track of his weight increases myself and plan to buy a scale tomorrow. Can anyone reccomend a good one, other than buying one on line from a reptile place? I hear the kitchen dept. of some retail stores sell them but, will they out grow those? Should I just drop the 60$ and get one on line?

I paid about $30 for a nice kitchen scale from Walmart that weighs in grams. Eventually I'll have to get one that has a higher weight limit, but this one will last me a good long time, I figured.

congrats on the clean bil of health. As for the scales you will want one that will acomadate your snake as he gets bigger some scales only go up to say 400 grams well after year one you will have to spend the money on a better one. You can find the digi ones at wal-mart for like 38 that go up to like 10 lbs and convert to grams. you can even set the tub you will be weighing in and zero it out so it only weight the snake. You don't have to get on online just get one that will last and that you want have to up grade

Good job on the clean bill of health, but I wouldn't have expected anything less (didn't you get him from Tim Bailey?)!

I probably use the same one - I also got mine from Walmart for about $30. It's a pretty good little scale - although I originally bought it to weigh food, but it's sort of evolved into the snake weighing scale.

I use the tray that came with it for weighing snakes, and use regular dishes now for weighing my food! Multi-purpose scale!

    Tina,
Congrats on your little guy, Gambit, doing so well. He sounds happy at his new home. I have a scale that I got from work that measures in .1 gram incriments. I don't think that that kind of precision is really necessary, but that is what I got. A buddy of mine has a standard kitchen scale that measures every 2 grams. I think you can get those pretty cheap, however, I would follow everybody elses advice, and buy one that weighs up to at least 1500 gram(about 4 pounds). This way, you don't have to keep buying scales as your snake grow.

Yeah, I cheaped out too on the Walmart kitchen scale...its not very good...for $20 more I could have gotten the more accurate one that weighs up to 8000grams...
