Ringer Question

Hey Gang...just a quick question...what is the value of a "ringer" ball? By this I mean what does it add to a breeding project? Our what is the outcome because one is a ringer?

Just curious as they seem to pop up on KS and other sale sites often.

weird, i have never heard of a ringer up until a few minutes ago and now it comes up again

They are basically totally random. No one is producing them with any certainty.

I wouldn't pay a nickle extra for an animal that was a ringer for breeding purposes ... now for a cool looking animal, I might pay a little extra, but it's only for looks.

It's common within a couple of the pied bloodlines, but they are two unique and distinct things.

Meaning? ... Are you able to prove something different with the pieds that you're working with?

If you're interested in more information behind ringers and their occurance within some pied bloodlines, you should give Pete Kahl a call. Awsome, thanks for the info, i have read info online that a ringer is some sort of sign for pied genetics. No im not working on anything, i am just now trying to breed my normals, never mind any type of morphs or anything.

Like I said, ringers show up in some of the pied bloodlines ... but they also show up in the lines of other mutations (pastels, axanthics, lessers, spiders, etc) as well as normals.

After many years of breeding and reproducing pieds, no one has been able to conclusively like ringers to pieds in any consistent manner.

Baseless speculation online is how many false rumors are spread in this hobby.
