    Olive Oil
The lady I bought my ball python from gave me some "Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Great Value". She said that she just rubbed on the snake occasionally but never really said why. I haven't used it on her and wanted to know what it's for and if it's even necessary.

She said she would just take a tiny dab of it and cover the snake entirely.

I think thats an old-school practice done by people who kept snakes a long time ago in a galaxy far away did, like in the 70s. I'm sure guys like Adam, Vaughn, or Jamie are old enough to remember back to those days. ;)

Actually I was a little worried where this thread was going to head when I read that title, but surprisingly it's stayed out of the gutter. :O *faint*

I'm guessing they must be trying to use it as a shed aid? Maybe? I agree with the others, ditch it. It's not necessary, and who wants olive oil all over their enclosure? bleh

It's an old school scammer trick to make the snake "look better" ... nice, shiney, clean ... used a lot at shows and swap meets ... same thing as the kool aide trick.
