a couple clutches

My passion is balls, but I still love my corns too! Here's pics of a couple clutches laid this week.

This clutch is from my first corn I ever got many years ago. 26 eggs, and she should probably double clutch this season.

This girl was 17 months old when I cooled her in November. 18 eggs, not bad.

Yeah, it's amazing that such a slender snake can pack that many eggs into her. 26 is a little above average clutch size, but my friend's corn has clutches of above 40 eggs every year for her first clutch each season. Someone posted a clutch of around 55 eggs on another site last week!! Her second clutch will probably be a little below 20 this year, but 70-80 babies out of two females in one season is plenty for me. :D

Lovely eggs Evan. I didn't have any idea either that corns could produce that many eggs or that they could double clutch...wow! Can't wait to see the little corns. How long is the incubation period for them?

Incubation time is about 55 days at 82 degrees and about 90-100% humidity. Most colubrid eggs can handle wider temperature ranges and temperature swings than python eggs (no maternal incubation in the wild), and can be successfully incubated as low a 65-70 degrees, but you better have some patience (add about 2 days for every degree that the average incubation temp falls below 80). I just leave the incubation boxes out in the snake room which usually stays around 80-82.

What types (morphs?) of corn babies are you expecting this year?

I only have the "common" genes, albino, hypo, and anerythristic, and right now I only have two females. My older female is anery, double het for both hypo and albino (as is my male). So her clutch will contain anerys, ghosts (anery hypos), and snows (anery amels). My smaller girl is a snow, so you can figure that out. It's always fun to try and figure out the odds with 3 recessive traits :confused: , although all are anery, so I guess it's technically only two traits....
