    Nevi’s progression thread
I’ve had my little scaled baby since May 13. She arrived in one of those plastic take out containers and I was shocked how little she looked, in my mind she was so much chunkier. She’s quite small and seems skinny but once she’s settled in we’ll hopefully fix that.

So far I have her in a bin, but I’m planning on moving her to a terrarium once I figure out what exactly I want it to look like. I’m honestly quite excited about decorating it.

She hasn’t shown much interest in eating yet but I’m not particularly worried about it as of right now since she hasn’t even been two weeks with me.

She still seems a bit shy but quite enjoys exploring my couch and slithering behind the cushions as one does.

Any tips, advice and admiration for her beauty are very welcomed.

She’s a kingpin so close I guess. I suppose she looks like an exceptionally pretty one and like she could be a cousin or sibling of your baby Luna as well https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e5a61d8b43.jpg

    Caught in the act!

Nevi had her first shed with me today and the entire experience was both extremely exciting and anxiety inducing.

After her blue phase was over (didn’t take any pics cause I didn’t want to bother her), it felt like it took forever before she actually started shedding. So tonight when I went to check up on her I felt so lucky to actually catch her in the act.

After she had done shedding I removed the coco husk from her bin and replaced it with tissues cause I got scared it might be too rough for her skin.

Tomorrow she’ll hopefully have a nice juicy meal to celebrate her achievement. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...31aa56f807.jpg

Today she had her first meal with me. I’m in shock. I didn’t even wiggle the mouse, she instantly struck and wrapped around it. I felt so proud of her.

I’ll try taking pictures of her chunky self tomorrow.

"Too rough for her skin"? Actually, snakes appreciate some traction even when not shedding, but for shedding, they really NEED it. ;)
    Congratulations on your adorable newcomer...:snake:

I blame it on the new mum paranoia.

Thank you for the useful information and kind words.

Great looking critter. I love that stripe. Congrats on hitting the very cool first successful shed and feeding milestones! I agree there's no need to take out the substrate after a shed ;). Best wishes!
