    I did it!
This little story may sound silly but I'm rather proud of myself right now even if I am still shaking a bit.

This may be kind of off topic, but the reason it has taken me till I'm 61 before getting a snake, that I really wanted for a VERY long time, is because I am HORRIFIED of mice and rats, dead or alive. I was frequently terrorized by them when I was very little and adults thought it was funny. I can deal with most any animal but them. I decided I would get past it before I ran out of time and never get to experience the wonder of having a pet snake myself.

Some on this board may know that I have recently gotten two baby BP. Each is about 4 months old. Today was the first time I was to feed them and I'm proud to say I did the WHOLE thing by myself. It was hard but I did it and I know I can again. From purchasing them, taking them out of the freezer and thawing them and then feeding them. One snake ate... one did not. But it will when I try again and I know I CAN do it!

I know... TMI... but I'm proud of me. Thank you for reading this.

    Good job!
Most people are horrified at snakes-not the rodents we feed them...:)

Congratulations! :gj: I had pet rodents of all kinds when I was younger, so my hesitation about snakes was being able to feed them for a very different reason.

We're all different though...I can recall one person who surrendered their unwanted BP to me after losing interest actually admitted that the only reason he wanted
a snake was because he HATED rodents & loved to watch the snake killing them...:O

It's usually a positive thing to overcome our hang-ups & learn new things, even if it takes a while. We're all capable of much more than we think.
