    New Blood Python
OK, so it's taken a long time searching but I've finally ordered my new Blood Python girl!

She's a Marter line animal, 2016 hatch and should probably be shipping out today to arrive tomorrow - I'm waiting to get notification from the seller that the package is away. If you're not familiar, Kevin Marter is a well known breeder of Bloods who's been selectively breeding them for a long time now and is particularly known for strong red coloration.

    This is her baby picture:

And this is what she looks like now:

As you can see, the red is coming in really nicely! That's a pic from the seller of course, I'll take some pics of my own after she arrives. For scale, she's sitting in a 9.75" deli cup and I'm estimating she's roughly 29 inches long using this tool: http://serpwidgets.com/main/measure

When I bought my Carpet Python a little over a year ago I was wavering between a Carpet and a Blood so I think it was kind of inevitable that I'd eventually go back and get "the other one". As it turns out there are so many awesome short tails that I had a really hard time choosing one.

I don't have a name picked out for her yet, feel free to make suggestions.

Very nice new pick there, the red parents are so cool and looks your new blood has inherited the there colour as it's coming thru already even from the baby pic

Nice! You can't go wrong with a Marter blood. I always has ambitions of getting one of those or one of Kara'a bangkas back when I kept bloods.

Awesome choice!!! She's gorgeous, I can't believe how much her head has changed color. That dark head looks awesome, I can't wait to see some better head shots once she's home!

I don't know her weight but I will weigh her when she comes in which is supposed to be tomorrow morning by 10:30am.

Still working on names but one I thought of was Narya, the ring of fire worn by Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings. The red is making me think of fiery sounding names...

@craigafrechette, their heads can actually change color so it could be a dark sooty grey one day and then back to a more neutral brownish color another day. However, I feel like I see more dark heads on Marters than on most bloods for some reason.
