Need advice

Someone local to me is selling 3 - 2 year old normals. They are unsexed and they want $175 for all 3. Its a crap shoot for me. I dont need males at this point. Any thoughts?

Ask them to have them sexed and explain you dont want males at this point...

But if they have them sexed and find out they are female, then they become worth about $300/each...

Anyone local who could go with you to sex them?

Any idea how much they weigh?

If they did turn out to be males you'd likely be able to unload them in a few months time if they weighed in. Or you could just make a final offer - haggle the price down since unsexed. Is winding up with males the worst case scenario out of that for you?

I could sex them. I just dont want to tip them off to anything and have them change their minds. No idea on weight. The only thing that makes me nervous is they got one a year ago from a reptile show and two from a breeder. Odds are neither a breeder at a show or any other is just giving away his females. Males would not be the worst case scenario because i could unload them and get close to what i paid, but i would need to feed them. Its not a huge risk but i wanted some extra opinions. Thanks!

hmm, i had not thought of it like that... but maybe they have no idea and dont care... and just want to rid themselves of them... not sure what to tell ya to do in that situation.

yeah, its a tough one. She also said , they havent been probed which sounds like someone who knows terminology. Probably just me being suspicious though..

Yeah, she knows terminology... but really that does not mean she cares, she just may want to get rid of them, maybe weigh in the reason why she wants to get rid of them in making your decision... if you dont know, it never hurts to ask.
