Monty the snake yawning with Escamillo the cat (video)
Hey! My new wife has a pet cat and I've had my snake for 10 years so it's been a fun challenge getting them used to each other. This video proves it worked!! Enjoy :)

I was coming in to say th e same thing. I have to put my cats in another room if the snakes are out. We all want our animals to get along and be cute but they just cant. Sorry. And I have a black cat who looks a lot like that. Mine hates mu snake though...lol danger will noodle, danger!

Thank you MissterDog for the knowledge, I will keep them separated from now on.

Not just because cats are a predatory animal that could attack or hurt your snake, but because they produce a gram negative bacteria that's deadly to reptiles. This is in their saliva, so even if they don't rub against your snake, they still groom themselves so any contact is still a risk.
I'm sorry to rain on your parade :( I wish they could be interactive friends but the sad truth is it's dangerous.
Both snake and cat are super cute btw! I love black cats!

Thanks Sunnieskys, I want both our pets to be healthy and safe. They don't really care about playing with each other so no need to continue the risk.

Hi mlededee, thank you for sharing your advice, and for caring for the wellbeing of my pets.

Cats are super curious and instinctual hunters and you just can't change that. There is really no reason at all to allow them to interact, or get used to one another. It is safest for both cat and snake to be kept entirely separate from each other.

Thank you all for your sage advice!! I'm going to add a warning to my video for any more folks who may watch.
