What is your favorite snake and why?
I've got an albino ball python and a spotted Python and I love them both. I'm just interested in knowing some other breeds that you guys like so I can have some insight when I decide to get another.

I have a normal ball, a male Hog Island Boa, a female Jungle Carpet Python and a Brazilian Rainbow Boa. Of this group my favourite is the carpet. She is more of a display snake, never in her hide and moves around a lot. Plus she is beautiful (not nearly as the Rainbow) and interesting. She seems to be always in view and the others sometimes just seem like they are not there, always in their hides (except my Hog Island who likes a warm bath and hangs out in his new, larger water dish).

Retic. I love my Retics and always have since I was little. I had one Retic when I was around 14 and I loved her the sweetest easy going snake. Unfortunately she died and I waited another 10 years before getting another one. A very very close second are my boa constrictors. I love the big snakes:D

Cleo is my favorite Retic out of the ones I own now. She's even more easy going than the first one I had when I was younger.

actually before I wasn't much of a person who loves snakes but once I came across an article about Matilda and I was so amazed..she is really beautiful and I never thought snakes can be beautiful..since then I've trying to search for some places where I can buy one. Still, haven't found one so if anyone here knows a place, let me know :D

The only snakes I've handled besides my beep have been wild garter snakes really, so I can't speak from much, but from what I've gathered about "domestically owned" serpents I can confidently say that my ball python was a perfect choice. Yeah he likes to hide but if I want him out he's very receptive to handling, he's calm mannered, low maintenance, and i just love his face. Like for a snake they have very sweet faces, a bit chubby, and he has big dark eyes. Knowing that he's in the room and mainting him is dare I say it, interesting and fun. It's also cool to own a manageably sized python. :P I'm really happy with bps.

I would say it's a three way tie, and if I had to choose one it would be my Rufous Beaked because I can actually hold them. However, the next is a between squams or an annulata.

Common boa constrictors(bcI). I love boas, calm, easy keepers, and a bit more active then a BP but still willing to just sit in your lap.
Second favorites are a tie between the ball python and the cornsnakes.
There is a reason that these three are the most popular pets, cause they are all awesome.
Carpet pythons are third, only because they can be bitey as babies and as adults can be a handful.I had more trouble with my big boy, he was always getting into things, wrapping around stuff and just hard to just hangout with, but again still awesome.

I'd have to say my albino dwarf retic is my favorite just because she is so big and impressive! She is over ten pounds now, maybe about 12 pounds or so, my scale only goes to 10 pounds and she maxed it out LOLOL. Here's a photo from a couple weeks ago, she is still growing fast! Not sure how big she will get but I'm guessing she won't get much bigger than about 50 pounds. She is already a handful! She has never tried to bite me or strike at me and when I clean her tub I put her on a folding table and she just sits there and watches me for the most part. Yesterday she got a little active and crawled around my 6' wire rack and knocked over all my stuff and got a bit tangled up! She is a sweetie.
