    BP incubator..
Last post, so if I manage to successfully get a clutch this year, what incubator would you suggest? Best make, I'm terrible at making things so would need something ready made.. I've seen exo terra and zoo med ones but not sure if there any good and efficient enough to hold a clutch of bp eggs. Would do you guys use or what would you recommend? Thanks

It's so easy to make your own and I strongly suggest you try. There are tutorials for that everywhere

If you've got the cash, c serpents has some really nice ones. They are what I'll be going with.

If you're just preparing for a couple clutches: you literally don't have to do anything except for buy a box cooler ($20~$30), stick in a heat pad, throw in some water bottles, and attach the heat pad to a good thermostat.

THERE IT IS. A perfect incubator.

It only gets complicated if you want to build windows and things (that aren't needed for the actual incubating) to look at the eggs. And if you need an incubator that holds more clutches, it's the same concept, just get a bigger cooler/mini fridge.

I don't have an incubator yet. But my plan is to do almost exactly what redsheperd said. The only difference will be that I'm going to use the insulated shipping box that my last shipment of frozen rats came in, instead of a cooler. By far the most money into it will be the thermostat.

That sounds like a plan, like a mini husky fridge like buy a cheap broken one and put a heat mat inside, but will the tempersture stay consistent enough with just the use of a heatmat? As don't it need to stay a steady 89f? well around that. But might take your advice and do that ideas thankyou:)

That would be getting a good thermostat, and it will stay at that temp, just like our enclosures. (As long as you don't get a leaky cooler/fridge LOL) I really wouldn't skimp on the thermostat for the incubator... I haven't done anything with mine yet, but going cheap on the thermostat is not worth the risk for something as fragile as eggs. So I got a herpstat for it.

I'd probably use a pulse proportional thermostat by habistat... I use microclimate prime 2's atm for my vivs but will be swapping to racks after Xmas

How long have they been together so far? It took my virgin male half a day to get the picture. And that was only because I finally put in another male to see if it would help, and it did, right away.
