Clutch #1 1.0 Fire X 0.1 YB
Clutch #1 is all shed. It looks like we have 2 Fire, 1 Fire YB, and 1 where I will ask the experts to chime in. Originally I thought it was Fire YB because of all of the blushing. But now that it is shed, it is so dark that the typical YB head stamp is hardly visible. The is the second clutch out of this female and she hasn't produced anything that looked like this until now. It wouldn't relax for me to get a better picture but it has a great dorsal pattern. I will see if I can add to this tomorrow with a better shot of it. I haven't sexed any of them yet.
#1 Fire

Thanks for looking.

Yes, I do too. This was a small clutch to start with and then losing the one egg didn't help. Still pretty happy that they are all morphs. Thank you

I will see if I can get some belly shots up. I was on the fence with number one but it doesn't seem to have the checkering I would expect with YB. It actually looks more like what you would want to see on a het Pied animal. Thanks.

Ya, some belly shots will always give the best answer for yellowbelly. I have a little fire yellow belly and he looks a lot like number one, which is great for what I'm trying to do with axanthics. From what I've noticed, spending hours looking at fire yellowbelly, is that fire affects the alien heads but YB affects the black, gives these little blushes up from the stomach. Look between the more extreme snake and your first, even tho they're smaller, he has those little flare blushes in the black striping along the tummy. Another was the yellow color along the edge of the tummy before reaching the actual tummy and last thing I noticed about fire and YB is the head blushing. With YB, it's like it contains the fire, makes the fire marker really pop, like it has a border. Whereas with plain fire, the marker on the head goes wild. Notice how the YB marker comes to a point? It makes the fire marker come to a point as well when mixed together. But like I said, no expert, just spent hours upon hours looking at the combo so that when it comes to my own clutches I might be able to tell [emoji28]

Here are a few belly shots of #1. Let me know if you think this may have YB as well. I do see some yellow coloration that I wouldn't expect to be there if it were just Fire, but it certainly doesn't scream YB.

Here is a better pic of the YB and his pattern. Probably the coolest looking YB we have produced to date. We have produced some very nice examples, but this guy is quite a departure from the others. Can't wait to see all that dorsal blushing lighten up with every shed.
