    Have you ordered snakes online?
    Hi everyone :)

I'm looking into ordering a specific snake online, simply because I cannot find it locally.

I'm curious - have you ordered online? How was the experience? Can you recommend a specific site or breeder?

One in particular that I'm curious about right now is http://www.bigappleherp.com/ - they have exactly what I want, but most of the reviews I've found are fairly old and mainly for hardware.

    Feedback would be appreciated! :snake:

I ordered from BHB - (one of) my kingsnake came from there. Happy, healthy, snake and a fast, easy, process and kind of freaked out the fed-ex guy. Win/Win/Win.

90% of my collection was purchased online, the key is to buy from reputable breeders.

Big Apple Herp are not breeders they are an online petstore.

If you want to buy from a breeder you can check Morph Market and than the BOI to check the breeder 's rep same goes for Big Apple Herp

Great advice, Deborah - this is exactly why I wanted to ask. I'll definitely check out Morph Market.

    Thank you!

Big Apple Herp doesn't stock animals they primarily drop ship. I've dealt with them before for equipment. For critters I purchase direct from the breeder.

What morph are you looking for? You don't have to answer if you want it to be a surprise lol

I have bought 3 of my bps locally, well it was a little bit of a drive for 2 of them. I'm getting a fourth in a week and it will be shipped from Garrick from royal constrictor designs. For my first online order for a snake he definitely made me feel really comfortable with my purchase and talked with me for quite some time about different pairing options and all the information about her. He even offers his cell for after hour calls which was a plus bc of my work schedule. I haven't received the snake yet but so far his customer service is A+++. If you want to see if he has what your looking for take a look at his site. Here is the link.

Just make sure you do your homework on the breeder and make sure they are reputable. Some of those reputable breeders even belong to this forum and respond to posts everyday.

All but one of my snakes have been purchased online. That one was my Banana boy, Arlirr - I got him from a local guy who bought him at Petsmart and decided that BP's weren't the snake for him.

Three are from TriReptiles. I've been pleased with all of them, though the last one didn't have a 'live animal' sticker on the box, which I wasn't happy about.

Two are from OutbackReptiles, and I was quite pleased with that transaction.

Two, including my Kingsnake, are from BHB. I had a second Kingsnake who I purchased from them at the same time. She turned out to have an internal defect, and died, but I do not think there was any way for them to have known that when I bought her, and I don't consider them in any way responsible. Sometimes, it just happens.

And one is from an individual on here, though she's not in my signature yet, since she's still with him!

There really aren't any local breeders here. Not for BP's at, least - that I've found. I know one guy who breeds Retics, and his partner breeds Burmese, but she is just starting to get into BP's - in fact, I think I actually have more than she does, from what I was told. While amazing animals, Retics and Burmese are just much bigger than I want to try and house or feed.

I have space for one more snake - and to be honest, what I'm hunting for is not a ball python. I have 5 balls, one corn and one king at the moment. I'm actually looking for a black milk snake, but in all actuality, I'll probably end up with another ball :D I do love them.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with RCD - I'll take a look there, too!

This helps a lot for my future purchases. Though there are a lot of reptile shops here in Tucson, they never seem to have the specific snake I'm looking for; so it's nice to get an idea of quality breeders that ship.
