    R.I.P. Simmons
I lost Simmons the other day. He showed signs of RI and was under the care of a vet, receiving broad spectrum injections and doing all that I could for him while we waited for the cultures to come back. I did not have him long but had big plans for him. Besides, he was just cool as snakes go. Very laid back and a good eater. He'll be missed.

I'll accept condolences and all that, but please no questions about what happened. I just don't know and it's still very raw for me. Necropsy is scheduled for this week.

I'm very sorry for your loss, AKA Dave. It doesn't matter if he was recently acquired - he was still your pet, and that always hurts.

I'm sorry. I saw you had him less than three months so he should have still been in QT at least.

Still really missing this guy, but at least I know what happened now. The Necropsy along with the cultures showed an extremely aggressive and drug resistant form of RI. He'd most likely been carrying it when I brought him home as none of my other snakes had it. Once it took hold, he was gone in a matter of days. Take this as an object lesson people. Quarantine procedures are so important. This could have easily wiped out my entire collection. Better times ahead...
