Shipping Options
So it looks like I am going to take the plunge and see if I can't get my caging and rack systems to market. I'm currently looking for an economical shipping solution and am talking with Fed Ex Ground. My question is this:
Would you as a customer be willing to pick up a package at a Fed Ex location in order to save costs?
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Shipping Options
Sure, anytime you can save in this business it's a plus. Congrats on moving forward and good luck. As soon as I get out of N.Y. I will be looking to purchase something of yours.

I would have to think about it before ordering. If it saved a significant amount, yeah, I would. I don't have the worlds biggest car so, that may be a factor. Are you planning on shipping assembled?

Perhaps. For the smaller units it's a possibility. Flat packed is most likely the best way though. Assembly is not hard either. I've got it down to about 20 minutes.

It might be difficult keep in mind that some people have schedules that do not really allow them to go to FedEx during business hours and if the rack is heavy they will need to co-ordinate with a second person, it will also depends on the size of your racks, not everyone has a truck if you have a small car it will be a problem.
Some things are just easier to get shipped directly to your home.

Re: Shipping Options
I've had to go to local UPS warehousing near me and I almost prefer that method. I know where it is and can pick up when I want. My area driver don't get to my area until 5-7pm and drives me nutz !! Congrats on going forward making some products , cant wait to see what your offering :).

Re: Shipping Options
If the savings wasn't more then say $20 I'd rather have it shipped to my home, remember a portion of customers might be buying rather then building based on amount of free time.

Thanks for the input. :gj:

I would pay a bit more to deliver it. If I'm buying online opposed to waiting for a reptile show, it's because I don't want to wrestle something into my truck. And because the ups hub is terrified anytime I show up. Open one live reptile box in the hub and your the spawn of Satan forever.

Would certainly be good to have the option to pick up from the shipping hub for delivery savings.
