How did that get there?

    How did that get there?
So I know that piebalds get extra spots on them as they age. But it is still strange to look in on your snake of five years and suddenly *new spot*. Some times it's hard to notice on heavier marked pieds, but on my 95% white snake when I opened the drawer and saw that tiny black spot on her tail my first instinct was to try and clean it off. Nope. It's there for good. It's just so odd when it feels like it happened over night. She's about to go into shed.

Anyway here's a pic of Nibiru's new beauty mark.

Also...looks like she's getting down to business as far as building up for ovulation goes! Finger and toes crossed. She's showing a little on the big side since she ate last night, but still looking like she's getting ready.

Fantastic looking animal. Almost "panda" looking. I know sudden onset coloration changes occur in most reptiles on or at various times in their lives. Maybe this is representative in a animal with reduced melanin to only show 1 spot or patch of coloration. Looking forward to the clutch on this girl. Lol.

Thanks! She looks 'panda' here due to poor camera work. Here is her real color. ;)

Still looks amazing. Is she black pastel pied?

She is indeed a black pastel pied, one of the originals produced by the Pied Peddler. She's been bred to the 'pixel' pied shown in my avatar.

Here is a baby pic from the breeder! You can see why he originally named her Two Face. ;)

Wow, she's pretty neat!! Funny how that spot just randomly came up so late in the game.

Yup! Just one day...more color! Heehee. Some gene somewhere said "Hey, wait...aren't we supposed to code for color or something?"

Two face huh? That is descriptive and cute. Lol.

She's actually the only black pastel pied I've seen that has almost 'super black pastel' markings on her face. The other black pastel pieds I've seen have 'normal' pied markings on their heads (and she does too on her left side) but the right side of her head is browned out more like a super or some sort of paradox. I love it. ;)

That's awesome, I didn't know that pieds could gain spots as they aged.

I like how her new spot looks smack dab on the top, not on her side but (looks from photo) symmetrically on top.
