    Question about granites
My friend has a granite they want to rehome and said they'd give me a good price. I looked into them and on worldofballpythons.com there are two different pages for granite: a codom page and a dominant page. I was wondering how much of a difference each line has on offspring. I know that if you breed two of the codoms you will get supers, and with the dominants you won't. If I go on there and choose a granite (co-dom) to breed with a lesser pastel, for example, nothing really comes up, but if I choose the dominant one those combinations exist. Would the combo with a co-dom be different enough that people aren't doing it because it's ugly, or is it so similar there's no point in having a granite (codom) lesser pastel page and a granite (dom) lesser pastel page?
Similarly, there is no mojave x granite (dom), but there is a mojave x granite (co-dom), so I'm confused.

    I hope I'm making sense. I haven't finished my coffee yet. :P

The better question is: Is it a granite visual or genetic?

It is genetic. They said it appears to be co-dom from the breeding they have done.

appears to be? RDR co-dom granite line was an obvious super. I'd ask to see the super.

problem is there are so many "granites" out there that are polygenetic traits, some people label anything with dots a granite. There were also claims of granite attaching to the hgw gene and muddy up what people were labeling stuff further. Unless it came from a proven line, I wouldn't even put merit in a gene being there.

These are the two I have to pick from. The second is bigger. She said that they never produced supers just because they didn't work with it that long. They at least look like granites, right?

I personally like #1 better but I wouldn't kick either one out of bed for eating crackers.

    LMAO!!!

    Also, I agree :gj:!

I got my granite girl from Pedigreed Pythons which is a proven co-dom line. Yours looks very similar. Not to mention there are 2!

    Here's the one I got:

Here's the Pedigreed Pythons page showing some granites, granite combos, and even super granites and combos :gj:.
