Are these sound Genetics
I am looking at purchasing my first snake from American Made Exotics, they've been super helpful and reply to all my questions promptly. There are a few snakes of theirs that I really like, but I'm not very sure about the genetic aspect. I am not interested in breeding (ever), but I have heard that certain genes can come with wobbles and other issues, and while that does not mean that it is an unhealthy animal, this is my first ball python and the less problems it may have the better. Here are the genetics that I am looking at, is there any heath / neurological issues associated, or combos that I should avoid for health / temperament issues? Right now none have a wobble, but I have heard that that can appear as they age. (I included the genes of the parents if that helps)
1. pastel 50% pos het pied - sire = leopard pastel het pied , dam = normal
2. yellowbelly - sire = yellowbelly enchi, dam = normal
3. mojave - sire = Mota / Cinnamon-Mojave / Pastel-Spider, dam = lemon pastel
4. pewter - sire = Mota / Cinnamon-Mojave / Pastel-Spider, dam = bumblebee
Thanks for all your input!

There are no known issues with any of the morphs you are looking at. Here's a link listing known issues.

Re: Are these sound Genetics
So you’re looking at two normal, lemon pastel, and a bumblebee? I think because it’s the end of the day the way your worded the post confused me a bit. All balls are great balls! choose what speaks to you :)
The bumblebee is my fav out of those listed but that morph does have the spider gene in there if your are really that concerned with the animal potentially have a wobble. Congrats in advance on your first BP!

No he is looking at :gj:
1. pastel 50% pos het pied
2. yellowbelly
3. mojave
4. pewter
Super Cinnies are prone to duck billing and spinal deformities other cinny combos have no issue in case you plan on breeding in the future.

Sorry for the confusion, the morph next to the number is what the snakes I'm looking at are, then I listed the parents. So #4 is a pewter, but the parents genes are listed next. I'm just confused by the gene part. If you have a snake that is a normal in appearance, but say has a spider gene in it, does that mean it wobbles. Or does a spider only wobble if it LOOKS like a spider? I really like several morphs, they tend to be Mohjave or pewter mixes, but since the parents have the spider gene, I was not sure how that effects the offspring.
I'm new to genetics, so I apologize for any confusion I'm causing

Congrats on the choice to get a ball. don't apologize, we are all here to learn from one another. The spider wobble is directly related to visual spider morphs only. You should be just fine.

The parent's genes don't necessarily pass on. If a snake is normal in appearance then it does not carry a spider gene regardless of the parents. A recessive gene such as pied, albino, or ultramel can be carried without being seen. Phenotype vs. Geneotype. The spider gene is not recessive so it will be visual if it's present in the animal.
This is a good place to start:

I would not under any circumstances pay extra for a het pied normal unless I was going to breed it in the future. If you want a normal, there are many a breeder that all but gives them away, so paying $200(just a number) for a het pied for a pet will net you absolutely nothing. The other three are all visual morphs, so they are worth more to you even as a pet than a normal, so they all make sense. If it's a pet, pick the one you like the look of best, and if possible, in the case of a pet, handle before purchasing so you can get to know it a bit, see it's temperament, etc. No point in getting a pet BP if it's going to snap and hiss as you every time you want to hold it.
