k, Pandora still seems to be hungry 24/7. she currently eats a medium rat every weekend, and i can't ever see where the rat is in her. with Apollo, i can see.... but i can't find it when she eats it!! i'm thinking of possibly switching her to large rats. i have some pics... here is what she eats now:

oooo maybe large rat?? :) :)
I dunno....those sizes look like a big change. I guess you can offer it. If she takes it, she takes it. If not, it's too big. I don't think they're stupid enough to eat something they can't physically handle, so ya. :)

hmmm... maybe i'll get one large rat, and the rest will be her normal mediums. medium to large is a huge change.... we'll see though.

good thing about apollo is if he doesnt eat it, pandora gets a snack. :) but theres no larger snake to eat the bigger rat if she doesnt take it.. so in the garbage it goes!

Just throw it outside for other animals to have. :) I remember reading someone who would put the leftover mice outside so the ants and stuff would eat it and leave just the skeleton, then they'd bleach it and put it in a jar or something. That sounds cool. 8)

    Am I too cautious?
Instead of moving up to large, why not use a medium and a small .. or even better, 2 smalls?

I almost never feed any of my ball pythons anything larger than a small rat. If they need it, I will double up, but still stay with smalls. Even my largest females (3800+ grams) are only fed small rats and they are all healthy, thriving, and amazing breeders.

Just sharing a different point of view. Hope it helps. Good luck!

There's SM rats, that fit right between small and large.

Hmm, one way that people make their balls take two rats in one sitting ... is by putting the head of the rat in their BPs mouth while the 2nd rat is still going down.

Personally, I don't recommend it. Unless you like dealing with the hassle.

I would probably go with a size in ebtween the two you showed in your first post. The first one seems a tad small, while the bigger one might be a bit too stressful and energy-consuming for her to swallow.
