That's my omnivore mix. It contains dead insects, ground turkey, chopped greens, and a bit of fruit. The color is due to the beets we added in this week. Gives it an unintentional carrion look.

These guys are so cool... I have always been told they are petty fragile and drop their tails easily so they are more hands off. Any truth to that?

Not really something you have to fret over with the European legless lizards, aka scheltopusiks. I've worked with them briefly in the past and even the angry corkscrewers never dropped their tails in my handlings. Any plans for breeding? I sure would love to raise up a baby or two!

I don't know anything about these guys - I've never even seen them before - but now I want one. Are they hard to care for? What makes them legless lizards and not snakes? What kind of things do they need to stay comfortable?
