desert bee - color no changes ???

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and this is my first post.
I've 7 BPs now. One of them is bumble bee YB but as my understanding its color will be darkened as time goes by.
I really love the color and pattern bumble bee got. But I wonder how to find a bumble bee which color never changes.
After browsing lots of photos from internet, I found all of them changes...fire bee, butter bee, lesser bee, killer bee, queen bee, killer bee fire....
Only one morph I'm curious if it will keep the same color...which is "desert bee".
Could anyone give me advice how does desert bee look like when fully grown? Is the color still beautiful or changes?
Anyone could help me on this?

What desert are you referring to first of all? Desert Ghost which is a recessive gene or The Desert Ball which is dominant?


Either way I think desert ghost would be the only one that may not darken as much as it ages...unfortunately 98% of morphs all fade and darken as they age...not ALL, but most.

I'm looking for desert instead of desert ghost..although they look similar to me.. lol
As my understanding, the frustratd truth is like what you said, almost all BP darkened when they aged.
But I was told that some genes are exception..such like banana, albino, super orange dream and desert.
That's why I'm looking for desert bee(I don't breed so fertile or not is not important to me at all).
But I cannot find any grown desert bee photos to make sure of this thought..

Have you checked WOB? They have some pics of an older one on there. I would post the picture, but it's not mine. Those you have listed seem to hold their color yes, I'm not quite sure on the desert though. I have not seen enough adults to disprove that. It will probably be like finding a unicorn getting one though since very few people work with plain Deserts these days because of the female infertility.

Neither do I. That's why I also want to understand if older desert bee changes...lol...people intend to show pretty photos...

Fire gene also looks good...some people also thought it becomes better when aged.. ^^

I think fire gets better, especially when mixed with other genes. Vanilla Cream for instance (Fire x Vanilla)...they get better and better and better with every shed in my opinion.

Fire Vanilla could be a good choice. Fire desert also looks great! Brighter and more beautiful than desert! lol
So, I guess fire desert bee would be better than desert bee. but never heard one..

BTW, how big is your fire vanilla? can you share the photos? thanks lol

I don't personally own one yet, but it is on my list as my breeder male...more concentrated on females right now. I do know people who own them though and they are stunning in person. Also according to WOB a fire desert bee hasn't been made....which like I said before it would be hard to find someone still dedicated to working with the gene with all their issues....everyone has moved on to Desert Ghost and the other new highlighter genes out there.

I like the deserts too, and am currently looking for a male tiger...for the right price.
