What should I keep records of?
I currently only keep records of weight and when my snakes eat. As I plan on getting more racks and snakes in the future its gona cost me. So I plan on.breeding just so not all the money comes out of my pocket. I want to know what i should keep records of from my current snakes and also when i produce hatchlings because i dont want somebody asking me all kinds of questions and not be able to give an answer.

Some suggestions that I received in a similar themed thread were things such as:

    Age
Weight (At regular intervals to track growth)
    Gender
    Morph (Genetic Information)
    Shed Schedule
    Feed Schedule

I record feeding, dedication, cleaning, weights, breeding events...for hatchlings, pip day, weight, pairing, and everything I do for the other snakes. I will try to post a picture of the sheets I made that work well for me, but there are a lot of pre done ones out there already. Those are the things I record to keep me honest with myself as a keeper.

    I track the following:
    Seller
Arrival Date and Method (e.g. shipped in or local pick-up)
Feeding & Attitude (e.g. very hungry, shy, had to leave the f/t for a few hours, etc)
    Shed
    Weight
    Pairing Dates
    Observed Lock Dates
    Ovy Date
    Laying Date
    Vet Visits & Treatment
QT dates (a friend does QT for "our" collection since his wife hates snakes so he can only have 1-2 at home a time)
    Rack/tub size & location (e.g. when the BP was moved up from a 28-qt to a 41-qt)
Anything else I think may be important

I have 33 snakes in the house. The smallest 2 eat twice weekly (garters), the largest boa eats once a month, others are on 5, 7, 10, and 14 day feeding schedules... I have to write it all down.

I use reptile scan and have it set to remind me for weights every month, feeding if it's not on a 7day schedule, clean water dishes, I spread that over the whole week, then I just scan when they shed and I can also leave notes on each animal.

It's also a good idea to track bowel movements with hatchlings until they've had several and you're sure things are working well on the inside.

I have a binder where each snake has its own sheet. On the sheet are hatch date, where they hatched, when I got them, morph and gender. I then have columns to record feedings as they happen and weight periodically.
