Theoretical double recessive combo
I have decided that this year if I buy anything, it's goin to be an ultramel, but then what will I do with it? I think the obvious answer would be ultra pied since it's stunning, but what else would be nice? (sorry, this is what I do when I can't sleep, think about pairings etc). I'm not partial to snows, so I'm not really feeling the ultramel axanthic (why would you combine awesome color gene + takes out color gene?), but then I started thinking how would a lavender ultramel look? Would the lavender intensify the terra cotta parts of the ultra, or will the albinism override everything to make something more snow-like?
I realize this is a rather long-term project, as well as completely theoretical at this point. I just like the idea of selecting genes that compliment and improve each other aesthetically, rather than how many genes I can fit in a single animal (which is also a perfectly reasonable plan, it just doesn't "do it" for me personally), and I feel like I don't know how lavender influences things well enough to even guess how that combo might express visually. Does anyone who's worked with these genes have any thoughts about it? Thanks!
Re: Theoretical double recessive combo
Definitely yes with the ultramel g-stripe combo. I'd love to see that. As far as other multi genes go, I've seen plenty of 5 and 6 gene combos. Some are gorgeous jaw droppers, annnnnd some can be down right hideous. I'm actually shooting for a 4 gene combo with my very first pairing later this year. A double recessive is technically also a 4 gene animal too if you didn't know.

Wow, that burm is stunning! The hypo would definitely be an option for me since I already have that gene. When I realized the only non-recessive BP I have is the hubby's lesser girl (because he wanted to make a bel, even my hoggie is recessive lol) I figured recessives might be my "thing." But I still need to get some G stripes and clowns going, and then mix them all together. :D
