Help! Am I crazy or does his mouth look puffy?
Just took Forrest out for a bit of a cuddle & thought his mouth looked a bit puffy. Am I crazy? I'll post all the pics I just took.

Temps are stable at 88-90, paper towel bedding, has eaten live in the past but is switched to f/t now. He did miss his last 2 meals, however he's always been a picky guy. 1 missed feed was presumably because he was shedding.

No bubbles or wheezing. I don't know how to go about opening his mouth to have a look in or I would.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

He's not lethargic & he has tongue flicks all the time when he's out.

I rounded up some pics from about 6-8 months ago & he seems to look a lil puffy in these too. Could this be just the way he is?

You may be crazy. I'm no therapist. What do the little voices tell you?

It does look a bit puffy, but it also looks ok. I'd be more worried if one side was puffier than the other. But, since both sides look to be pretty even I'd say he is fine.

He looks fine to me, but to answer your other question about opening his mouth, you can use the edge of a soft rubber spatula. Just be gentle with it.

Looks pretty puffy, when the gums puff up like that it's normally an issue with teeth, like they broke a tooth when eating or biting someone or something. keep and eye on it and if gets any worse get it to a vet.

The general consensus here definitely makes me feel relieved. I'll definitely keep an eye on him, just in case. Thank you, all! :-D

As for the little voices. They tell me I don't have enough reptiles.

    BUY ALL THE SNAKES!!

Just so you all know, that picture is a pretty accurate description of me when I purchase a new snake. I may have issues. Who knows. Lol

As long as 9 of the 10 voices in her head are telling her she is sane... it's all good :D.

As for stressing... I'm the master. Good lord, there should be a group for us overprotective, worrying, over compensating snake mommas. I think we should meet at the local bar for a drink or 10.
