Pastel BP unsexed $150

Is $150 a good price for a hatchling unsexed pastel?

Any particular reason why it's unsexed? Babies are easier to sex than an adult imo. Pastels are relatively cheap. I know you can buy 2013 males for around $75 not sure about females but I wouldn't pay $150 for one that isn't even sexed.

I wouldn't pay that much unless it was a stellar specimen. An average quality pastel female is ~100, so an unsexed one seems silly to go for.

Its unsexed because our local Petco is selling two of them. They have a sign that says "normally $309 reduced by $160". The price is $149. I will try to get pics tomorrow using my iPhone. We don't usually get pastels in Juneau, AK. Just the norms although the two norms they have now for $80 are darker than they have had before.

I already have two BPs and don't have room for more but was curious about the pricing of the "pastels".:snake:

Ohhhhhh well your pricing might be different up there if morphs are rare, I'm not sure. I know that most Petco and Petsmart stores that I know of let you hold them or sex the animals before you purchase them. So if you know how then maybe ask if you can check for yourself.

I personally wouldn't ever buy an animal, or at least a reptile, from Petsmart/ Petco. They're overpriced and often ill cared for, likely to be sick. I would assume even in Alaska you can have snakes shipped, although I don't really know. I also would say no, that is not a good price.

On the flip side, if it was a female that caught my eye I would think about it.

I would want to sex it but if it were a female a would say it might not be a bad deal. It depends how hard they are to get up there. Before buying from PetCo I would check into buying from a breeder and having it shipped to you if possible.
