**RESET** Which morphs would you start with?
If you could start all over, what 3 morphs would you start with? Why? You have $1000 (:
After years of begging my parents are finally letting me bring snakes into the house. (I had to start with other - less "scary" reptiles to convince my parents.) Im not just jumping into this, I am researching alot, thus the post (:
I think my goal would be 2 Females 1 Male. I have 2.7k in the bank, 1k for the ball pythons and I will need to get equipment, which I have already started on. Then when i have had my first few clutches I could buy other morphs and it would never end!
I LOVE killer bees <3 but Im not fond of the wobble that is possible with a spider. :/
I found this :Captive bred, 100% HET Piebald *Guaranteed*, Early 2011s, Ranging from 400 to 525 Grams, Devouring F/T Medium Rats, Nice deep color! 275$
They only have Males though. I think the male would be the last one I buy.. I want to buy the females first, and fatten them up ;)
Another idea I had was maybe spend less on the first female het for (albino? im not sure) and the other would be a higher end female.
Im still new to BPs, but I would love to breed other reptiles besides Leo's.
Suggestions please! Thank you everyone! [:

What I would do now is buy two QUALITY single gene females now, then save up a bit more and buy an awesome two gene male. Females take at least two years before they can breed, and a male can be ready in under a year sometimes. If I had my pic of 2 morph females for under 1000 dollars, I would probably get an enchi and a fire. However, get what morphs YOU want. If you are into killer bees, you can't really go wrong with a bumblebee female. Heck, you could probably get a killer bee straight off the bat and still have a bit of budget room for a female cinnamon, pinstripe, spider, spotnose, pastel, or maybe a mojave or lesser. Again, just make sure that you buy quality examples of an animal's respective morph. If you buy low quality pastels just because they are cheap, you will make more low quality pastels when you breed. Best of luck, and good to see another younger person on here!
Edit: I would not mess around with recessive morphs, especially not male hets (probably the worst way to start building a collection.) For a person with little to no reputation, it will be pretty hard to sell any hets you produce. Also, male visual recessives are becoming so common and cheap that you could easily afford a male visual pied instead of a het. Personally, I would stick with dominant-codominant morphs, but if you are really interested in recessives, by all means go for it.

I wouldn't be too worried about the spider in your bps. I have 1.1 bumblebees and they have little to no wobble at all.
Also, always start with females.

Get what you love to look at if I was starting today I would try to get the following I ranked them for budget purposes.
1.Pied
2.Super Lesser
3.High Grade Bumblebee or Killerbee
4.High Grade Enchi

Don't let wobble stop you. They are fine. I'm not sure on prices right now, but either a nice Queen Bee or bumblebee, nice enchi, and pastel lesser. But that's just me, I love the spider gene, and yellow on a snake. :)

A pastel female, a spider female, and a leopard male. :D

Re: **RESET** Which morphs would you start with?
Hmm. I started last summer then had to sell off everyone but two, my big normal who I have owned for 7 going on 8 years, and a little albino boy.
This summer I am starting over once again.
Some time during this week I will be buying back two snakes for 175, a female spider and a female pastel het hypo. The man can no longer care for them so I am taking them back. They are between 500 to 700 grams roughly. I sold them in October at around 350-400 grams.
I do agree with everyone saying start with females first and buy something you like. You could possibly get stuck with the hatchlings so pick something that you can stand looking at.
I want a pied female badly. I would go with a good butter/lesser, pewter, bumblebee, hypo mojave or hypo black pastel (something dark so the ghost gene pops), maybe a super or a pinstripe.
Good luck.
