Male or Female Clown?

Should i get a male or female clown for my second BP? i'm looking to purchase a reduced pattern one. I also have an Albino Female (180g) if that helps any. Some people are telling me to get a female clown, but others telling me to get a male and buy lesser-pastel females etc. If it's not necessary to get a female i won't get it due to my budget restrictions since females are usually about $500+ more than males

Future Projects in order:
1. Lesser Pastel Clown
2. Killer/Pastel Clown
3. King Clown
4. Enchi Clown
5. Albino Clown

I would get a male clown and breed it to your albino to work towards albino clowns.

Albino clowns are probably the last on my priority list. Lesser Pastel Clown and Killer Clowns are what i'm looking to produce first

Then get a lesser het clown and a pastel het clown. Or a clown and a lesser pastel het clown. Or a pastel clown and a lesser het clown. Depends on what you're budget is and how patient you are lol

Females are recommended for people with a small collection because they mature slower. A male dosen't really make a difference. Remember clowns are reccesive, so you'll need another clown or het clown female if you want to produce them.

if you have the funds, getting a female clown would be HUGE in your future plans.
why? because a male any gene 100% clown is so much easier to get(availability and price) than
a female any gene 100% het clown, people tend to hold to them forever.
then once your girls are up to size, get a multi gene male 100% het clown and plug him in.
you should get at least 50% clowns from the clown female. either sell them to fund future projects or ...
but keep one good male clown to breed, he'll be ready so much quicker than any of his sisters
and go from there.

Well the problem is female clown is gonna cost me $1200-1500 and a male clown gonna cost me $750-1000. I plan to purchase a pastel-lesser het clown or just a pastel lessser and breed it to produce that depending how everything goes. Unless I change my mind and try to produce killer clowns first. Which would you recommend? Male or Female?

Female. Male are ready in a year (or less, sometimes) while females take 2-3 years at least. And then when she's ready you can buy the boy. At that point the male you want is going to drop in price as the market gets a bit more saturated, so you can get 'more snake' for that $750-$1000.

Female lesser het clowns cost about the same as a female clown. Pastels het clown aren't too expensive either. The difference between the 2 is that the super pastel clown is HAWT. The super lesser clown will be an all white snake lol.... So you wouldn't even know if clown is present....

I'd get a pastel het clown FEMALE, and allow the price of the lesser het clown male to drop so you can get one! Who knows, you may save enough money to buy a PASTEL lesser het clown boy :gj:. That way you can make even more goodies :D

pastel lesser clown is the one in the picture above! my dream snake! pastel lesser het clowns are like 3k right now. pastel lessers aren't too expensive at all. if you were me, would you get a female or a male? after all the responses, seems like the general consensus is female
