    Clown or Pastel Clown?
Which would u pick to invest in if you were me? I'm interested in killer/pinstripe/black pewter clown projects, and then ultimately axanthic/firefly clown projects. Def have some big plans! :D

    And male or female?

my budget is around 1500 (cost of racks, snake, and thermostat) but i might change my mind if it's worth it in the long run!

I was planning to get a normal clown, but i realized that getting a pastel clown would speed up these projects alot! let me know what you guys think, any tips would be great! thanks:cool:

Get yourself a female clown, when your female is 1k grams start looking for a pewter/superblas het clown male. By the time he is ready your female should be at an ideal weight.

Keep in mind that we can plan all we want but snakes won't always behave as expected. You get snakes that will take longer to get to size, breed, etc. Most important thing is to get snakes you like and have fun.

Not a male clown? I already have a albino female and wanna mix it up! haha probably a bad reason

I also agree with the female clown.

That way you can pair up male morph het clowns to her and still get morph clown offspring.
Also, if you get a male clown and pair him up to your albino girl, then they would make double hets. Plus it doesn't really flow with the plan you mentioned in your original post. (unless you want albino clowns)

A female is a better investment in the long run.

right now the goal is actually albino (since I already have an albino female, why not?), pastel, killer, and possibly pinstripe clowns. Down the road the goal is gonna be axanthic, firefly, and possibly black pewter clown.

a male wouldn't work out for those projects?

males are 1000, females 1500, i wouldn't wanna spend that extra 500 if it's not that necessary to.

Always invest in females. That's my Motto.

How old/big is the female albino that you already have? If she is near to or just a year off breeding size then getting a male would make sense, in which case why bother to ask, if you can afford it pastel clowns rock and a male would help a lot of your future projects. If you don't have a girl near to breeding size then it would be a better plan to get a female clown (and possibly also a pastel het clown) to go with a future visual male.

Female clown. Think about it. When you breed a male morph like mojave, spider, or bumblebee to a female clown. One of the male babies can breed in like a year and you can breed that to the female clown again to have good chances of a double gene clown. If you have a male clown and breed to a female morph or normal, you get hets and you have to wait 2-3 years or longer to breed that het.

I'd get the pastel clown. You can still do everything mentioned above and add the pastel gene into the mix.
